Introduction

My name is Tim Cummins. I'd like to introduce you to a new way to pray!

We're going to learn something very meaningful and powerful.

Here is the link to the audio version of this Introduction. You should not listen to this while you are driving a car.

People ask me, "What is BetaPrayer?" Good question! BetaPrayer is a special kind of prayer. BetaPrayer focuses on relaxation, concentration and visualization.

BetaPrayer is for Christians. If you don't have Jesus in your life, this will not make sense to you. Christians have the Holy Spirit living inside of us!

Stress is a huge problem in society today. Schedules that are packed. Money issues. Problems at work. All these lead to stress. Doctors say that many diseases are due to stress. BetaPrayer focuses first on learning how to RELAX.

Once you've learned how to relax, what then? Concentration and focusing our attention on one thing, Jesus, is the next step. Often, when people pray, they say a few words under their breath, say amen, and stop. That has a positive effect, but it is not BetaPrayer. Focused attention is a key component of BetaPrayer.

Visualisation is the third component. When our eyes are closed. When we are completely relaxed and when we use our inside vision to visualize Jesus, the experience of prayer becomes much more personal and powerful!

In Matthew 14:23 it says, "After he dismissed the crowd, He went upon a mountainside by himself to pray."

You relax deeper, when you are by yourself, in a safe place. You should not practice BetaPrayer while driving. This is a private time with you and Jesus.

In fact, Jesus said in Matthew 6:6 "Go into your room, close the door and pray to your Father."

Do you have a place where you can be alone, undisturbed where you can talk to Jesus? Perhaps the only time you're really alone is when you're in bed, getting ready to go to sleep. No one is talking to you, no one bothers you.

That's fine!

If you want to lie down, while you pray you can. It's easy to fall asleep when you're completely relaxed. It's completely natural to finish talking with Jesus and then going right on into a deep, healthy sleep.

Jesus prayed regularly. The key to a deeper relationship with Jesus, is time. Practicing BetaPrayer takes time. But everyone spends time asleep. Get in the habit of practicing BetaPrayer right before you go to sleep.

You can train yourself to practice BetaPrayer and go right back to work or other activities. You've chosen to go into your "inside" world, and relax, And concentrate. And visualize.

On our Home Page, you will see links to BetaPrayer sessions that I have made for you. The sessions are similar, but the endings are different. One helps you go on to sleep. That is the PM version of the mp3 The other makes sure your ready to back to the "outside" world. The active ending is the AM session.

Again, it's not safe to practice BetaPrayer while you're driving. How can you drive with your eyes closed, completely relaxed, just floating like on a soft white cloud?

Why is it important to practice BetaPrayer? We need to experience Jesus personally. Not as a concept but as a real person. BetaPrayer helps us establish that relationship.

Here's how Jesus prayed in John 17:24, "Father, I want those you have given me to be with me where I am, and to see my glory, the glory you have given me because you loved me before the creation of the world."

Jesus wants to SEE you!

Do you believe that God is everywhere? Here's what David said in Psalms 139, "Where can I flee from you? If I go up to Heaven, you're there. If I go down to the place of the dead, you're there. If I ride the morning winds to farthest ocean, you will still guide me, your hand will support me." His Spirit is all around us.

Solomon said in Proverbs, "The eyes of the Lord are everywhere keeping watch on the wicked and the good." His attention is focused on us!

It takes concentration to relax completely. We must focus on our physical body and turn our attention to the "inside" world.

Jesus, we thank you so much for being our savior. Thank you for loving us and spending time with us! We love you and want to have a deeper relationship with you. AMEN!

Even now you realize that BetaPrayer has led you to a deeper relationship with Jesus. And you understand that every time that you come to that Holy Place inside yourself, that you will grow closer to Jesus!

This is Tim, saying "Goodbye" and praying for you a deeper relationship with Jesus.
